L-Methylfolate|Dosage of Pregnancy

For pregnant women, L-Methylfolate is very important because pregnant women with low L-Methylfolate levels have an increased risk of having a baby with neural tube defects and other abnormalities.
L-Methylfolate|Dosage of Pregnancy
The US Public Health Service recommends that women of childbearing age take L-Methylfolate 400 mcg daily. Many studies suggest more intake of L-Methylfolate, especially at least 3 months before and during pregnancy and lactation. After the pregnancy’s first 3 months, 4 mg of L-Methylfolate is recommended in high-risk women. Then a normal dosage of 400 mg is enough.
